Hannah Cutajar

THE CREATOR AND DIRECTOR OF RIVERSIDE PILATES AND WELLNESS

Hannah’s roots are in Norfolk but she has travelled extensively with her dancing career. Originally an ex-professional Ballroom and Latin dancer but then, as she loves to act and sing, went on to train in London where she graduated from a renowned musical theatre college. After graduating, Hannah went on to appear in Basil Brush the children’s TV series, cruise ship performances, West Side Story the musical, several pantomimes, as a showgirl in Paris and more. Hannah was introduced to Pilates when she sustained a dance injury in her back while training in London. She attended hours of Pilates sessions at the one and only studio of Alan Herdman, the first person who brought Pilates from America to the UK. Through rehabilitating and strengthening her body through Pilates, Hannah realised what a genius form of exercise this is and religiously undertook half an hour every morning throughout her dancing career. Hannah is extremely grateful for all of the wonderful jobs she has had, and people she has got to work with throughout her dancing career, but after 6 years of continuous dancing and living out of a suitcase she decided to move back to her hometown and start teaching what she had learnt and is so very passionate about. Hannah has now been teaching Pilates for 17 years and is forever expanding her knowledge and improving her teaching skills in the mind & body field and is excited for the future!

Hannah is extremely passionate about keeping people moving and strong to prevent injuries. To allow clients to continue what they love doing. She is extremely lucky and proud to have our team of instructors to take you through your journey’s. She is improving many people’s lifestyles mentally and physically by offering a wide variety of classes in such a friendly and inclusive environment. Hannah is proud that she has created a sociable and welcoming space that makes everyone feel confident and offers so much to help build a stronger and more confident YOU!

Change happens through movement and movement Heals.

Sandra Newson

Sandra started her journey 11 years ago when she began attending regular classes with Hannah. She quickly became aware of the healing effect Pilates had on the mind & body and the strength it enabled her to gain both mentally and physically.  Sandra’s interest has become a passion and she knows that Pilates will always be a part of her daily life.  Sandra has been teaching mat Pilates including Men’s Pilates, pre and post natal, Pilates for common orthopaedic conditions and small Pilates equipment, seated Pilates and Pilates for seniors. She loves the challenge of exploring every facet of Pilates, continuing to be inspired with each lesson she attends and teaches. She believes that Pilates has something to offer to everyone whatever their age or fitness level, building strength, awareness of your body, confidence and calming the mind. She is thoroughly enjoying, teaching and being able to watch people learn how to take control. Her aim it to ensure people feel relaxed, confident and at ease in a comforting environment, hoping that they will feel empowered to find their own passion as they start out on their journey.

Sandra is much loved by both clients and fellow instructors alike and is an integral part of the team assisting Hannah with the operation of Riverside’s day to day activities.

Tracy Harris

Tracy was a professional dancer and singer and has attended dance and exercise classes since the age of 3 and exercise has always been a major part of her life.

In 2013 when Riverside Studio opened, Tracy, having problems with back and hamstring injuries, decided to give Pilates a go. It very quickly helped to sort her injuries, and became a major part of her life, improving her core strength, flexibility and general well-being. In 2018, Hannah asked her if she would be interested in becoming a Pilates Instructor. Tracy then completed the training and is now a fully qualified Pilates instructor continuing to teach for Hannah in Gorleston, Hopton and Hemsby. She loves teaching, seeing clients gaining strength, improving their mobility and flexibility is a privilege and so rewarding for her.  Tracy is very excited to start teaching at the beautiful new studio, come and join her, introduce Pilates into your life. You won’t regret it, she certainly hasn’t!

Michelle McClean

Michelle believes there is so much more to yoga than postures and creating shapes. The true nature of yoga comes from within and as we take our yoga journey, we find our connection with movement through our breath, state of mind, body and soul. Rolling out our yoga mat allows us to step into ourselves; through movement within our yoga practice, we connect with our head and heart.

Yoga is a part or Michelle’s daily life, whether she is on or off the mat she instils yoga into everything she does. She has always had a love and passion for movement! Move at every opportunity. Motion is lotion. It is very easy to take our bodies for granted, but our body is our means of expression; our body is our home. So give it the love and care it deserves.

"Even though I’ve only recently been introduced to the amazing classes at Riverside Studios, I still have nothing but amazing things to say about them and the teamNeeding some variation to my fitness routine, (having been only focusing on spinning so far) I was encouraged to try Beginners Pilates, and even though I’m only three classes in, it’s already changing the way I feel in my mind, body and soul!"
